In case you missed it, you can check out the piece I did on going to San Diego Comic Con in a made-up cosplay here! It was difficult tackling my first personal post on BuzzFeed because, when you create for a brand, you have so much less control over how long you can spend on the work and what ends up getting published than you may be used to with just creating things for yourself, and that loss of control was suuuuper tough for me at first. I’m a total control freak when it’s my name attached. I am, however, pretty pleased with the end product, and learned a lot to take with me moving forward! Remembering this is a team effort and putting aside my focus on ME, keeping my ears open, and being solution-oriented rather than fixating on how to force open a door that’s just been closed for good– that’s what I learned here :)
I also learned that I need to only work at places that let me wear latex costumes for the sake of native advertisement god damn
