Rape is a disturbing and horrifying crime and one such case that is particularly poignant is the case of Jyoti Singh, also known as the 2012 Delhi gang rape case. On 16 December, 2012, 23-year-old aspiring physiotherapy intern, Jyoti Singh, was beaten, tortured, and gang raped by six men, including the driver, on a private bus in Munirka, South Delhi. Jyoti’s friend, Awindra Pratap Pandey, became suspicious when he began to realise that the bus was heading in the wrong direction and the bus driver had closed and locked the doors. When Awindra began to question the men, they knocked him unconscious with an iron rod and then turned their attention to Jyoti. She was dragged to the back of the bus where she was beaten and raped with the L shaped rusted iron rod. All men on the bus took turns on brutally raping Jyoti before throwing her and Awindra from the moving bus. Tragically, Jyoti suffered severe internal injuries from the disturbing attack; her intestines were partially ripped out of her vagina and her uterus was damaged. Jyoti succumbed to her wounds thirteen days later but miraculously Awindra survived. All of the accused were arrested within 24 hours of the horrific crime. One perpetrator, Ram Singh, died while in police custody; he was reported to have hanged himself but many believe he was murdered. One of the perpetrators was a juvenile and was sentenced to a measly three years imprisonment in a reform facility. The remaining four were sentenced to death.
szeretném azt mondani, hogy ez a legszörnyűbb ilyen eset, amiről Indiában hallottam, de sajnos kurvára nem
